Context
The Festejo Collection was developed within Projeto Fio as an exploration of Brazilian June festivities and Saint John celebrations. Inspired by memories of small rural towns during these celebrations, the collection reflects how popular culture is expressed through craft, ornament and communal rituals.
Approach
Through conversations with the artisans, we revisited personal memories of São João celebrations and translated their visual and symbolic elements into crochet and embroidery. The collection was structured as a narrative that evokes the atmosphere of rural festivity, extending these references into both garment design and visual communication.
I led the conceptual and narrative direction of the collection, guiding research exchanges, material experimentation and visual development to translate collective memory into a cohesive body of work.

LETTER TO SAINT ANTONY - JULIA JUAZEIRO
*Cordel is is a popular literary genre often written in verse, in rhymed form, originating in oral stories and then printed in pamphlets. We've briefed Julia to write us a cordel as talking to Saint Antony
People talk and if it's really true
I want to see it come true
I'm doubting, I'm suspicious
But I swear to you, I want to believe
I just don't want to live through another drama
I want to smile when I think of love
I make a note, I throw it on the fire
Blessed in the starry sky
I'll take you out of the cup
That someone put upside down
Like this, we can help each other
I'll try not to second-guess
And you'll stand here by my side

Mr. Antonio, it's serious business
This thing of being full of love
Sometimes I don't even know where to put it
If you could please help me
It's just that this love is embroidered on me
Made in the back hand, well kept
Sewing its way wherever it goes
For this help, it's important that you know
Now that I am where I am
I've understood how much it's worth feeling
The more I love, the more I know who I am
A new love, only if it's as good as this
As good as the one I feel for myself
Like a saint protecting me wherever I go.
